The Bellmead Economic Development Corporation is
funded by a one-quarter cent type B tax referendum under the Development Corporation Act of 1979. The Bellmead Economic Development Corporation exists to serve the Bellmead community. This is accomplished by assisting, stimulating and enhancing community and economic development in Bellmead, Texas, subject to applicable State and Federal laws and the Bylaws and the Articles of Incorporation. The sales tax revenues are utilized to increase job opportunities available to the citizens of Bellmead by assisting in the retention and expansion of local business and industry and the attraction of new businesses to Bellmead and McLennan County.
Bellmead has a diverse workforce trained by McLennan Community College, Texas State Technical College Waco and Baylor University, which all surround the City of Bellmead. Programs are available to cater specialized training through these higher learning facilities to train employees to meet the special needs of local businesses.
